If you built up a large force before destroying the last enemy on a level, you'd start the next level with that force. which is silly because its main gun only fires forward. It left me with no real anti-cap Frigate level craft, so I did what anyone would do and resized the old Ion Cannon Frigate to match the Escort Frigate in size, renamed it the Strike Frigate and gave it a couple of Kinetic Guns.Īlas I made a mistake and now it's default attack behaviour is to broadside anything cap-sized.

I reworked the Corvettes and Frigates down a size, and added my own Frigate model in as an Escort Frigate essentially a hardier version of the Flak Frigate, with a few more guns. If I had gotten more into it I would've added back the Plasma Bomb launchers somewhere on the front of the model. Flak Frigate model but with the guns changed to weaker destroyer shells that fired pretty quickly. I made a pretty decent (IMO) Hiigaran mod when I first got HW2.įavourite thing was the addition of the Assault Frigate (which is sadly missing from the game). It might not be as radical as the PDS or Complex mods available for the game, but such is life. I'm going to likely reduce the number of Corvette types, and resize some of them to fit Frigate or other roles. Overall I just feel that the progression of ship classes was a bit.
